As of today, I have almost reached the full term of my pregnancy. So as they say. Once baby reached 37 weeks, he or she is considered fully developed. And that's why, many gynaes advised not to rush into labour unless, of course due to an emergency.
Met my gynae yesterday and I told her of the swelling I had down there. She said its' pretty normal and after doing the internal examination, I am already 3cm dilated! Well, well, well.
That explains the extra dose of pain I had down there. She advised more walking to enhance easier delivery. Walking helps as the baby's head is pressing down the cervix thus, soften the cervical area and promotes dilation. But of course, what is labour without the pain, right?
Seven hours after the I.E, I experienced brownish discharge. After checking some information from the Net, it is pretty normal to experience this after I.E. I monitored myself the next few hours and I was 'clean'. Even waking up for Subuh and after that, I remained that way. It was only I had my next visit to the toilet that I noticed the brownish discharge again. This time, I called the NUH Delivery Suite for advise. Now, I am excited to give birth ASAP and see my Lil' Ah-Moi but at the same time, I definitely do not want to risk her life by giving birth too early or putting her in distress in my tummy.
After relating to the nurse about my experience, I was advised to monitor the discharge again on whether it increased in amount or my contractions get intensed in the next few hours before coming down to the hospital. As for now, the contractions Im experiencing has been bearable. I could still walk around for some shopping this morning but at times, it does get rather disturbing. Really like menstrual cramps! OMG. When I walked too much, I could feel her head pressing down and it gave me a sharp pain down there. Pelvic pain, dont ask. It seems to stay for now.
And so hopefully, the contractions remain under control for now. Ive already text the husband not to do OT today and to be home with me JUST IN CASE baby decided to make her appearance at night! She is well-known to be a nocturnal babe even before she's out!
It can be pretty exciting too since many of my contacts in FB guessed that I might give birth early due to the fact that Ive already dilated. Guessing game is always exciting hor! Secretly, I prayed she popped on the 15th April, as that will be a month shy from my 2nd wedding anniversary. Hehehehe!
Now, THAT will indeed be a beautiful wedding anniversary gift of all!
