Soya bean @ 12 weeks 3 days

Soya Bean had the 12 weeks NT scan today at the Fetal Care Centre. Alhamdullilah, everything seems normal. Just hope my blood test report will be good as well.

This little bean of mine is such a teaser! He/she wasnt moving during the whole scanning and when the sonographer was almost done, Soya Bean started to punch his/her arms & legs in boxing manner vigourously!! LOL!

Even the sonographer was laughing at his/her antics. Cheeky Soya Bean! I guess he/she was hungry as I didnt had any breakfas prior to the scanning!

Soya bean @ 12 weeks, 3 days. 3.0inches/ 10.0cm in length.

Sometimes I dont understand CERTAIN men. Ive seen it many times be it in NUH or Jurong Clinic for Women where the men occupy the seats and leave the pregnant women stranded, lingering around pathetically with no where to sit. Never mind the fact that their tummy isnt showing yet but HELLO! You are in Fetal Care and Women's Clinic and obviously majority of the women there are pregnant. So get your lazy ass off and give the seats to them!

Im quite pissed coz I was treated like that just now. When I got out from the scanning room, there wasnt any seats available. Understood, most are occupied by preggers and lil kids. However, what pissed me really bad was this Malay man who was sitting on a single sofa. Beside the sofa was his wife. He continued sitting there either oblivious or pretend NOT to see me, standing there, feeling whoozy with no breakfast!! Gosh, just the thought of it makes me angry. Fine, my tummy wasnt as big a s a watermelon but nor was it small like an apple. Just imagine, if it was YOUR wife who had to stand pathetically and no one offered her a seat, how would that make you feel, Mister??

*Taking a deep breath* Ok, chill. If I see these kind of men again, I would just shove my tummy right in his face!

12 Weeks In Me....

Today exactly marks the 3 months Soya Bean has been in me. Alhamdullilah. I thought I may not see or come to this point and I thanked Him for making this possible. Well, like many had 'advised'me, after the 3rd month, that's when you can announce your pregnancy because of 'pantang'.

I announced my pregnancy much earlier and I had my fair share of people telling me Im not doing the right thing or I shouldnt get too excited over it. To each his own. If I was a well-known celebrity and had announced my pregnancy news early, I guess I wouldnt received so much brick bats like now. Oh well....I simply cant please everyone, can I? So the best thing I did is just to pray to Allah to keep this pregnancy healthy and safe.

Seriously, the 1st 3 month wasnt very smooth-sailing. Besides the constant nauseousness, "very-hungry-but-dunno-what-to-eat" feeling, lethargicness, I also received rather hurtful comments from people around me. From me getting FAT to what I eat and "possibility in getting abnormal child". Eg; Eat instant noodle will result to having an abnormal child... Like seriously.....???!!! Which research has proven that?? I for sure would LOVE to know that.

You know what, I would be lying if I say I wasnt affected by it. It wasnt easy to take a deep breath, keep my cool and smile it away. Like, are these people thinking with their brains full of cobwebs before they speak...?? I for certain, do not know where their sincerity comes in place with their comments. From pantangs to having an abnormal child, I believe that whatever happens comes from Allah swt.

I have put all those hurting comments behind me and from today onwards, I would just concentrate in staying healthy, keeping this pregnancy safe and to constantly praying to Him for overall well-being. Gossipmongers who has nothing better to say can go JUMP. Wheeee.......

@ 12 weeks I am this big. But now, im not having twins. :))

By the way... Nice...??

So sweet hor...Versatile for a boy or a girl. But not getting any for now as it is still too early..:))For now, just hope the lil' person in me is healthy and safe. Insya Allah.

At Nine Weeks

Lil' Soya Bean turned 9 weeks yesterday and as of today the little one turns 9 weeks 1 day old. I dont know whether am I being too overly excited to announce to friends about this but after my previous miscarriage, I guess I have to be extra careful and tactful. Deep down its never my intention to show off but sharing something that the husband and I have been waiting for quite sometime.

Ok...here's a little nugget on my pregnancy journey for the past 9 weeks or so. Yes... I found out that I am pregnant (again) on the eve of Hari Raya. Few days prior to that, I had experienced some spotting and I still remember feeling so dejected thinking that the 'Bloody Mary' had come again. On the second day, 'miraculously' the bleeding totally stopped! I decided to wait for a few more days before I consult anyone.

However, I decided to go along with my own instinct. I read up in the internet on how it is still possible to bleed even when you are pregnant. I popped by at Guardian Pharmacy after work and bought a pregnancy kit. Costed $8.90 only with TWO test kits!! In case, one didnt work, I still have another one for back up.

I waited till after break fast time before peeing on to the stick. Left it on a flat surface and potter around my bathroom at the same time telling myself "If it's NEGATIVE, then be prepared....." Although my hope was high, I was already mentally readying myself for a NEGATIVE sign. I took my wudhu (abulation) for Maghrib and when I was done, I braced myself up to peek at the stick.

IT WAS A DOUBLE PARELLEL DARK PINK LINE.

Ya Allah....I couldnt stop praising Him..!!!

I slid the stick back to its packaging and took it for the hubby to see. He couldnt stop smiling and said Alhamdullilah. Sujud syukur was the only right thing to do at that time!!

Well, well....5 weeks have gone by and lil' Soya Bean is now already 9 weeks and 1 day old. At 2.46cm, he/she is a little fighter who is fussy on food already! Appetite hasnt been that good nowadays. I cant stand the smell & taste of minced chicken especially in bland soup, the smell of cooked rice makes me whoozy, I cant wait too long and hold my bladder and in fact I just recovered from a serious case of constipation!

A day after my 30th birthday, I had a massive vomitting bout. It was such a dreading moment for me! Even having slices of starfruit made me vomit all out. Standing outdoor for long gave me fainting spells especially when the weather gets too hot. The gynae said that all of it is normal as it is a sign that the hormones are working well.... REALLY.

The medications that I took may also contribute to my recent case of constipation. Folic acid for baby and dydrogesterone to strengthen my womb as I had D&C surgery done before. Oh yeah..did I share with you that I also have to go for a progesterone jab twice a week...ON MY FAT BUTT?? Hehehehe.....for the first few weeks of my pregnancy I had to go for the jab twice a week to 'double' strengthen the womb and foetus stability. However after my recent scan, Dr Anna had given me an all clear and I do not have to go for any seriously-painful jab anymore!! Yipppeeedooo!!!

Gynae visits and bills had been expensive especially when each jab costed $50 over. Thanx God, it has already stop.

My next check up will be on the 24th October to NUH for NT scan and blood test. And the next scanning will be only in November when I reached 17weeks. Maybe then, I would be able to see lil' Soya Bean's gender..???

Insya Allah...whatever it will be, I just want you to be healthy, Soya Bean.

Hugz & kisses from your Mama.
